The Explorer

We had a puddle stomping, footing soaking, blue sky loving good times at Police Point Park. Willow was literally knee deep in some puddles that I dubbed 'prairie oeans'. It felt so good to be out in the warm air....the big thaw is finally upon us!

Family Day!

We took in a little free skating time at the leisure centre on Family Day. I think Willow enjoyed the indoor skating experience better than the freezing cold outdoor experience. Who had more fun, Mom or daughter? Hard to say...

Reason to Celebrate...

Willow had some great fun decorating Silas's half birthday cupcakes...seeing how Silas won't be eating any, I think she's the one who will be celebrating the most!

31 Months

It is funny that I get to do both kid's updates on the same day. I can hardly keep up with all the changes. Willow has grown up so much lately. not only is she taller, her face just looks more and more girl-ish and less and less toddler-ish everyday. She has been rockin' the panty scene for a couple months now and enjoys great success using the toilet, even when we are not at home. I tell her all the time how proud I am of her. Her vocabulary, and annunciation continue to grow at an almost alarming rate. She is such a strong communicator. I Love when I hear her using new phrases, not always in the most correct way. When she really full or tired, "I feel bloated down", or asked when she knows what something is (like an iceberg) "No, not YET!" or "Yes, I have seen that, in my imagination". She is completely amusing to listen to. She loves learning and talking about her body, thanks to the body puzzle from Grandma that shows the skeletal, organ, muscles and skin systems. She is forever talking about all her parts and their functions, focusing on her brain and her thoughts and her heart and her feelings...so cute. She loves to sing songs and she really has a great grasp on tone, much more than her Mom. Of course it's not all abed of roses with a strong willed two and a half year old. She has a huge affinity for the big n-word. Yes, "NO" seems to dominate her, on some days more than others. That coupled with screaming fits and she has entered the world of the 'time out'. Some days she has many, others, not a one. Truly, each day is an adventure...an adventure that keeps me thrilled, super busy and in completely in Love through all of it's twists and turns!

At Home Days

Well, we are dodging cabin fever with all our might around here as we enter yet another day in our 7 days run of not leaving the house. Everyone is sick with a bad cold/cough (and everyone out in the world it seems is sick too) so we are hunkering down here at home. Amazing the number of hours of entertainment one little girl can get from a dollar store pack of glitter glue. Oh yeah! Mama's got a bunch of surprises up her sleeve just for mornings like this one. Anything to get her engaged in some quiet time fun!

Goldie Gazing....

Goldie is like out little piece of another wonderful world to engage our imaginations in the middle of the cold, dreary winter.....
