Willow really likes scarecrows. She is always on the lookout for them when we are driving around and she has been bugging me to make one for several days now. I finally got up my crafty gumpshun and pulled together all the stuff we would need and we made this guy a couple days ago to celebrate the arrival of fall. He is dressed in Willow's old overalls and is pretty nice, if I do say so myself. Willow loves him and has been playing with him, hugging him and making up scarecrow songs since.

Today Willow and I were getting ready to go to her Little Picassos art class. We were doing amazingly well considering the chaos that can sometimes occur during the morning routine. We were already dressed and fed...at this rate we might even be able to leave early and stop in at a cafe on the way so Mommy could have a little caffeinated mommy-treat. I was just doing a quick diaper change on Silas when Willow comes into my room, her head covered with white foamy stuff. "What is all over your head???" I ask in my not-so-sweet Mommy voice. "Baby shampoo" replies Willow. Yup, she had decided it was the perfect time to dry-shampoo her hair. Aughhhh! Of course, what could I do but strip her down, rinse off and start all over with the dressing game. The good news is that we weren't late for class...the bummer. - no treats for Mommy. Oh well, at least I had a good laugh.

Willow, Silas and I checked out the Alberta Arts Day events today. Together we made this awesome mask at a mask making workshop. Willow did all of the heavy creative work - the painting and the sparkles and I just attached the feathers that she chose. Pretty gorgeous!

I am so glad to be hanging out together as a family of four! These days are magic...it feels like summer should never end! Willow has done so much growing up this past month. There has been a lot of sadness, protests and tears....but we made it through and we are all a little older and wiser now. There have been so many moments when I have missed her so much...it is hard on a Mama, too, when a new little one arrives. Willow is learning how to be a great big sister and we are proud of her ability to transition through this big challenge. Willow, you are still the brightest light in our lives!

We all had a super fun time exploring our Alberta backyard for the past couple of days. Here is a pic of Adam and Willow checking out the hoodoos near Drumheller. These two had fun exploring things while Silas and I made use of our rest stops in the car having milkies - fun fun! We really enjoyed the Tyrell Museum - learning all about Dinosaurs!
